Men’s Cross Country finishes 12th at the Stanford Invitational

In their fourth event of the 2014 season, the SBVC Men’s Cross Country team faced off with some NCAA Division One power houses, such as Stanford, Washington State, and UC Riverside, as the team grabbed a 12th place finish at the Stanford Invitational. The top individual finisher for SBVC placed 50th, sophomore Justin Doyle (San Bernardino Cajon) with a time of 25:34.

SBVC Football falls late to the Eagles, 30-24

SBVC (2-2) took a ten point lead early in the second quarter, but let that slip away just before halftime, then regained the lead late in the fourth quarter and couldn’t hold on as the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (2-2) took the game late, 30-24.

SBVC Women’s Volleyball lost a tough fight against the Corsairs, 3-0

SBVC (4-8) fought a tough battle against the Santa Monica Corsairs (7-4), but ended up losing in three sets with scores of 19-25, 13-25 and 14-25.

SBVC Men’s Soccer falls short against the Warriors, 2-1

SBVC (4-5-1) opened up the scoring in the 15th minute, but even though they continued to pressure, the home side couldn’t quite get a rhythm going on a very windy afternoon, falling to the Torrance El Camino Warriors (2-0-4), 2-1.

SBVC Women’s Volleyball has a hard time with the Pirates, 3-1

SBVC (4-7) struggled in the first two sets then put together a fantastic third set to stave off elimination and played a back-and-forth final set, but in the end the Costa Mesa Orange Coast Pirates (3-0) took the match in four, 16-25; 11-25; 29-27; 20-25.
