SBVC Baseball suffers frustrating loss to Rams, 7-6

SBVC (5-10; 1-2) has had a tough go of it lately, just as they seem to be turning a corner, they take a few steps back and today was no different as the home team fell to the Victorville Victor Valley Rams (3-9; 1-2), 7-6.

SBVC Baseball demolishes the Coyotes, 27-6

SBVC (5-9; 1-1) let out 14 games of frustration onto the Ridgecrest Cerro Coso Coyotes (4-8; 0-2), as the home side scored 16 runs in the bottom of the second, bringing 22 batters to the plate in that inning alone, through two different pitching changes all with only one home run, as SBVC cruised 27-6.

SBVC (3-8) had yet to win at home going into today’s game and sophomore right handed starting pitcher Nick Przybylek (1-1) (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) had yet to win a game in this short season, but both fortunes changed as SBVC rolled to victory over the Compton Tartars (4-6), 9-6.

SBVC (0-2) has had a tough go of it during the home-at-home series with the Sylmar L.A. Mission Eagles (2-0), with production tough to come by from the heart of the line-up and unforeseen pitching complications, but the future still looks very good for the athletic SBVC team, even though they fell in their home opener to the Eagles, 6-2.

Retired SBVC professor & noted historian Schmidt to toss out first pitch Thursday

Author of several books on the history of SBVC Athletics, Roger Schmidt, will be present this Thursday to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, opening up the 2015 season. The new season will begin versus the Sylmar L.A. Mission Eagles at 2 p.m.

SBVC Baseball will open up the CCCAA Southern California Regionals as the #11 seed, traveling to #6 seeded Santa Barbara City (23-13) in a “best 2 out of 3” series beginning this Friday, May 2nd at 2 p.m.
