Men’s Basketball head coach Quincy Brewer was named to his third Foothill Conference Coach of the Year award in four years. An award bestowed upon Brewer after guiding SBVC its third Men's Basketball Foothill Conference title.

Sophomore guard Kirby Gardner (Rialto Eisenhower) was awarded the Foothill Conference MVP award. Gardner had a career high 35 points against Conference rival Victor Valley on January 14 at SBVC. Gardner was also an Honorable Mention for State Student Athlete of the Month for the month of January.

Men’s basketball sophomore forward Aaron Moore (Compton Dominguez) and sophomore forward Tevin Harris (Dallas, TX Madison) were named first team all-Foothill Conference. Moore was named first team all-Foothill Conference last season.

Men’s basketball sophomore guard Chris Franklin (Gardena H.S.) and sophomore guard Justin Stanley (Oakland McClymonds) were named as an Honorable Mention.

SBVC Men's Basketball secured the fourth seed in the Southern California Regional's and will host either #13 Los Angeles Valley or #20 College of the Canyons on Saturday, February 25 at 7 p.m.

The Santa Clarita College of the Canyons Cougars could arrive at Joseph W. Snyder Gymnasium with a record of 15-12. Their last game was on 2/15 at home versus Glendale, where the Cougars won, 84-74. The Cougars started the season 5-5. The Cougars finished the 2011-12 season fourth in the Western State-South Division with a record of 6-6, with an overall record of 15-12. College of the Canyons were last in the playoffs in the 2006-07 season, entering the Southern California Quarter Finals as the fifth seed; defeating number twelve seed L.A. Trade Tech at home, 91-80, then in the SoCal Semifinals, losing at home to number thirteen seed Compton, 86-72. College of the Canyons is coached by Howard Fisher in his twelfth year with the Cougars.

The Valley Glen Los Angeles Valley Monarchs could arrive at Joseph W. Snyder Gymnasium with a record of 15-11. Their last game was on 2/18 at Glendale, where the Monarchs lost, 77-74. The Monarchs started the season 5-5. The Monarchs finished the 2011-12 season second in the Western State-South Division with a record of 7-5, with an overall record of 15-11. Los Angeles Valley were last in the playoffs in the 2009-10 season, entering the Southern California Quarter Finals as the fourteenth seed; defeating number nineteen seed MiraCosta at home, 74-55, then in the SoCal Semifinals, losing at number three seed Riverside, 94-59. Los Angeles Valley is coached by Virgil Watson.

An SBVC victory on Saturday over either L.A. Valley or College of the Canyons will mean they will host a third round matchup versus either the #5 seed L.A. Southwest or the #12 seed Ventura on Thursday, February 29, at either 5:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.

In accordance with bylaw 6.8.16D1 & 6.8.16D2 of the Constitution and Bylaws of the California Community College Athletic Association/Commission On Athletics (CCCAA/COA), the ticket prices are set by the CCCAA/COA, and according to section 8 of the bylaw all revenue produced by a Post-conference Competition is remanded to the CCCAA/COA.
