SBVC Men’s Basketball sophomore guard Justin Stanley (Oakland J.W. McClymonds) has signed a letter of intent with California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Justin StanleyStanley was named Honorable Mention All-Conference along with one other player from the 2011-2012 team. SBVC grabbed their third Men’s Basketball Foothill Conference title in four years, also capturing Conference MVP and Conference Coach of the Year honors. SBVC Men’s Basketball ended the 2011-2012 season having won 25 games, on their way to making their fourth straight playoff appearance. Continuing to cement its reputation as a dominant program in the region, the team was within one victory of heading back to the State Finals for the first time since 2009-2010 season.

The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos play in the Kellogg Gym and the team is coached by ten year veteran, Greg Kamansky. In the 2011-2012 season the Broncos finished third in the California Collegiate Athletic Association going 19-8 and 15-7 in conference play, losing to Humboldt State in the CCAA Semifinals. Cal Poly Pomona competes in CCAA and the NCAA Division II, winning the DII National Championship in 2010.
