SBVC Men’s Soccer sophomore defender Mario Villafana (Fontana Summit) has made a verbal commitment with the University of Redlands.

Under the tutelage of sixth-year coach Josh Brown, SBVC Men's Soccer ended the regular season undefeated at home for the first time in team history and the team won 14 games, on their way to winning their first ever Foothill Conference title and their first Playoff berth since 1994. The 14 wins led to other firsts, a ranking of 20th in the state, and 10th in Southern California.

San Bernardino Valley College (14-3-3; 6-2-0) is onto their first playoff berth since 1994, visiting the Huntington Beach Golden West Rustlers (11-5-4; 9-3-2) on Saturday, November 19th at 2 p.m. in the first round of the Southern California Regional’s. General admission is $8; faculty, staff, children under 12, adults 60 and older, and students with valid associated student cards are $6.

Since SBVC (14-1-2; 6-0-0) started a Men’s Soccer program in 1990, no team had won a Conference title. There is no better way to win your first Foothill Conference title, than by punishing your rival and last year’s champion, the Rancho Cucamonga Chaffey Panthers (9-4-4; 2-3-2), 3-0.

SBVC Men’s Soccer (12-1-2; 4-0-0) had peppered the Victorville Victor Valley Rams (3-6-2; 2-2-0) goal keeper with eight hard shots and finally, at 82:55, SBVC broke through and gained a much needed Foothill Conference victory, 1-0.

SBVC Men’s Soccer (11-1-2; 3-0-0) went into half time down a goal and held on for a hard fought victory over Foothill Conference rival, the Whittier Rio Hondo Roadrunners (5-7-5; 1-2-1), 2-1.

SBVC Men’s Soccer (10-1-2; 2-0-0) scored within the first two minutes, then clung to that lead long enough to secure a victory over the underwhelming Visalia College of the Sequoias Giants (0-5-0; 0-1-0), 2-0.

SBVC Men's Soccer (8-1-2; 1-0-0) continues to impress as they scored 3 goals in the first half and 3 goals in the second, on their way to a 6-0 non-conference victory over the San Marcos Palomar Comets (4-4-1).

SBVC Men’s Soccer (7-1-2; 1-0-0) spent the first 30 minutes getting to know their Foothill Conference rivals, the Palm Desert College of the Desert Roadrunners (2-4-0; 0-1-0) then scored three goals within 11 minutes, on their way to a 4-2 victory.

SBVC’s Men’s Soccer (6-1-2) played a strong, challenging game against the Costa Mesa Orange Coast Pirates (3-2-0) and won the battle at home with a shutout victory, 2-0.
