SBVC Softball: Melchor walk-off homer wins it in extras over Pirates, 2-1

SBVC (7-6) had to go extra innings to get back above .500, but it was worth it as sophomore shortstop Lauren Melchor (Redlands East Valley) took the second pitch she saw and pounded it to right field for a two-run game winning homer over the Ventura Pirates (5-10), 2-1.

SBVC Softball has 2015 home opener and splits with Imperial Valley

SBVC (3-5) suffered a heart breaking loss in the first game, surrendering four runs in the top of the seventh to fall 7-6 and in the second game, the Imperial Valley Arabs (3-2) opened up an early lead, but SBVC responded in a big way, cruising to victory, 10-3.

SBVC Softball falls short against the Comets

SBVC (17-17) had a tall order ahead of them, not only making their first playoff appearance in 16 years, but facing the defending state champion San Marcos Palomar Comets (33-4). SBVC fell in the best of three series, 15-0 and 10-6.

SBVC Softball to open SoCal Regional’s at Palomar this Saturday

SBVC Softball will open up the CCCAA Southern California Regionals as the #16 seed, traveling to #1 seeded San Marcos Palomar (31-4) in a “best 2 out of 3” series beginning this Saturday, May 3rd at 2 p.m.

SBVC Softball is in the Playoffs for 1st time since 1998

SBVC Softball (17-15) opens CCCAA SoCal Regionals on Saturday 5/3 at 2 p.m. as the #16 seed and will travel to #1 seed Palomar (31-4). Palomar is the defending State Champs and this is SBVC's first playoff appearance since 1998.

SBVC Softball secures 1st playoff berth since 1998 with mercy sweep of Rams

SBVC (17-15; 10-5) locked up second place in the Foothill Conference with a double header mercy sweep of the Victorville Victor Valley Rams (7-24; 3-12) on Sophomore Day, SBVC took game one 10-2 in six innings and then took game two 11-2 in five innings.

SBVC Softball can’t hold back the Roadrunners, 14-0

SBVC (14-14; 7-4) had a tall task on their hands, but a nine run top of the second put the team in a hard spot and the Palm Desert College of the Desert Roadrunners (30-5; 12-0) moved on in five innings, 14-0.

SBVC Softball powered by back-2-back jacks, mercies Rio Hondo in the 6th, 14-6

SBVC (14-13; 7-3) grabbed their third straight mercy and seventh win in ten games, moving to above .500 for the 1st time this season and putting some distance between themselves and the third place Whittier Rio Hondo Roadrunners (19-16; 6-5), 14-6.

SBVC Softball mercies Barstow on back-2-back HR’s, 10-0

SBVC (13-13; 6-3) had two pitchers combine for a two hit shutout along with back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the fourth and SBVC is rolling with home 5 inning mercies over Chaffey and now the Barstow Vikings (10-19; 2-7), 10-0.
