SBVC Softball will face #4 Citrus in the CCCAA Playoffs

SBVC Softball (26-13) grabbed its fifth Softball Foothill Conference title and it’s first since 1998, the team was rewarded with the #13 seed and will open the first round of the CCCAA SoCal Regionals at the #4 Glendora Citrus Owls (30-9) on Saturday, May 2nd at 2 p.m.

SBVC Softball: Melchor named Player of the Year

SBVC Softball sophomore short stop Lauren Melchor (Redlands East Valley) was a unanimous selection as the Foothill Conference Player of the Year. An award bestowed upon Melchor after helping guide SBVC to its fifth Softball Foothill Conference title and it’s first since 1998.

SBVC Softball claims 2015 Foothill Conference crown

SBVC (26-13; 12-3) grabbed their first Foothill Conference title in 17 years, sharing the title with two other teams, based on the better overall record, SBVC is the top team in the Conference after defeating the Victorville Victor Valley Rams (0-22; 0-15) in 5 innings, 12-1.

SBVC Softball celebrates Sophomore Day by sinking the Vikings, 15-1

SBVC (25-13; 11-3) were in a jovial mood as the team honored its sophomore players, broke one record and tied three others, then torpedoed the Barstow Vikings (3-24; 3-11) in 5 innings, 15-1.

SBVC Softball breaks 4 school records on their way to a win over the Panthers, 8-4

SBVC (23-12; 10-3) has had quite an impressive run this season and is knocking on the door of being the greatest team in school history as the team broke four school records including single season hits, career RBI's, team runs scored and team hits as they knocked off the Rancho Cucamonga Chaffey Panthers (8-26; 5-8), 8-4.

SBVC Softball sneaks by Desert, 3-2

SBVC (14-9, 5-2) had not defeated the defending Foothill Conference Champs since April 2013 and had fallen earlier in the season, but not today as the home side grabbed a victory over the Palm Desert College of the Desert Roadrunners (10-18, 5-2), 3-2.

SBVC Softball almost knocks off the Roadrunners, 9-8

SBVC (13-9; 4-2) had to battle back from a six run deficit, chipping away in the fourth and sixth innings, only to have that hole dug a little deeper in the top of the seventh and then to almost win it in the bottom of the seventh, another crazy and exciting game from the Whittier Rio Hondo Roadrunners (12-14; 5-1), with the home side falling 9-8.

SBVC Softball is stung by the Hornets, 7-4

SBVC (13-8) took an early lead, but a missed opportunity at a double play in the fourth led to a two out four-run explosion by the Fullerton Hornets (13-8) and the home side eventually fell, 7-4.

SBVC Softball mercies Barstow in 5 innings, 10-2

SBVC (12-7; 3-1) continues to roll through most of Foothill Conference play as the home side built a ten-run lead at the end of the second inning and cruised as the Barstow Vikings (1-13; 1-3) lost their 11th game of the season to the mercy rule, 10-2.

SBVC Softball squeaks by Panthers, stands on top of Foothill Conference

SBVC (9-6; 2-0) found themselves once again in a pitcher’s duel with a visiting team, and once again they ended up being the team on top thanks to another brilliant performance in the circle for Alicia Morris and timely hitting by Lauren Melchor giving SBVC the victory over the Rancho Cucamonga Chaffey Panthers (1-13, 1-1), 1-0.
