SBVC Women’s Track & Field will have freshman Shanice Stewart (Rialto Wilmer Amina Carter) representing the program at the upcoming State Finals at Cerritos College this Friday and Saturday.

SBVC Women’s Track & Field traveled to San Diego Mesa for the Foothill/Pacific Coast Conference Prelims and Finals, finishing sixth of seven teams behind eventual champion, Mesa, but finished first in the Long Jump and freshman Shanice Stewart (Rialto Wilmer Amina Carter) dominated with 39 total points by herself.

Freshman Rebekah Frazier (San Bernardino Cajon) set a school record in the 5,000 meter run and freshman Melina Hernandez (Indio H.S.) set a school record in the 3,000 meter Steeplechase. Freshman Shanice Stewart (Rialto Wilmer Amina Carter) already with a school record in the javelin toss, landed in the top 5 all-time in the long jump.

Freshman Shanice Stewart (Rialto Wilmer Amina Carter) already with a school record in the javelin toss, added another record to the list at the high hurdles. Freshman Rebekah Frazier (San Bernardino Cajon) placed in the top five all time with a 2nd place finish in the 3,000 meters.

SBVC hosted their first track and field event in four years and were hampered by only appearing in four of the 17 events, but finished first in the javelin throw, second in the 3000 meter run, and third in the 4 x 400 meter relay.

SBVC Women’s and Men’s Track and Field teams will send four men and a woman to the state finals at American River College in Sacramento this weekend.

San Bernardino Valley College sent 21 student athletes to the Foothill / Pacific Coast Conference Championships at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster on April 30. SBVC collected Conference titles in 3 events.

Sophomore Sprinters Jason Amador, Michelle Burley, Jessica Carter, and Melissa Rene sign letters of intent.

San Bernardino Valley College sent 9 student- athletes to the California Community College Athletic Association Track and Field Championship at College of San Mateo. SBVC Men’s team finished 7th, while the Women’s team finished 30th.

San Bernardino Valley College will be sending 19 student athletes to the Southern California Prelims at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut this Saturday after finishing in the top 6 at the Foothill / Pacific Coast Conference Finals on April 24. SBVC collected Conference titles in 7 events.
