The 2011 season was full of change for fourth year coach Tricia Rossman as SBVC ended the season with a record of 7-17 overall and 3-9 in Conference, finishing sixth.

SBVC (7-15; 3-7) played well in the first game, but could not seem to muster a recovering rally and fell to the visiting Victorville Victor Valley Rams (7-10; 6-3) in four games, 25-21, 21-25, 20-25, and 19-25.

SBVC (7-13; 3-5) dominated in game one, but service errors in game two and surrendering an 8 point streak in the beginning of game three proved to be the difference in a Foothill Conference loss to the visiting Palm Desert College of the Desert Roadrunners (7-6; 4-4), 25-18, 22-25, 22-25, and 19-25.

SBVC (7-12; 3-4) put another victory in the win column by defeating perennial Foothill Conference cellar dweller, the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (5-10; 0-7) in three games, 28-26, 29-27, and 25-15.

SBVC (6-12; 2-4) had hard time trying to figure out the Foothill Conference leading Lancaster Antelope Valley Marauders (6-9; 5-1) as they fell in three games, 18-25, 19-25, and 16-25.

SBVC Women’s Volleyball (6-11; 2-3) looking to get back into the win column versus their Foothill Conference rival, the Rancho Cucamonga Chaffey Panthers (11-5; 3-1), dropped short, 23-25, 22-25, 25-19, and 17-25.

SBVC Women’s Volleyball (6-9; 2-1) in need of a Foothill Conference victory at home, got that win in a big way, sweeping the Whittier Rio Hondo Roadrunners (7-4; 1-2), 25-19, 25-15, and 25-20.

SBVC Women’s Volleyball (4-8) opened the match winning game one versus the Cerritos Falcons (3-5), then dropped games two and three, before winning game four to force a deciding game five. Unfortunately, SBVC couldn’t hold on and lost at home 3-2 (25-21, 16-25, 16-25, 25-21, 12-15).

SBVC Women’s Volleyball (4-6) opened the inaugural SBVC Quad with back-to-back sweeps of the Sylmar L.A. Mission Eagles (2-2) and the Monterey Park East L.A. Huskies (3-7), producing the first sweeps for SBVC since November 2009.

SBVC Women’s Volleyball will be hosting the inaugural SBVC Quad on Thursday, September 22, featuring Los Angeles Mission College, East Los Angeles College, and Foothill Conference rival, Rio Hondo College.
