SBVC Police Science Division

Welcome to the SBVC Police Academy web site. The Extended Basic Police Academy is unique in the format that is offered to the student body. The police academy is accredited through the California State Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.).

Graduating students currently receive thirty (39.72) semester units of credit upon completion of the 48-week/888 program. We have an academy program that is designed for the working student or parent, who must work while attending the academy. Each class meets twice on weeknights and once on the weekend, with two (2) academy sessions operating simultaneously on a staggered days schedule.

Extended Format Basic Law Enforcement Academy

Pursuant to the request by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.), a successful basic course review of the San Bernardino Valley College Extended Format Basic Law Enforcement Academy was completed in August of 2007.
