CERTIFICATIONThe San Bernardino Valley College Extended Format Basic Law Enforcement Academy is certified by the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), and is taught in conjunction with the San Bernardino Valley College Criminal Justice Division. The Basic Law Enforcement Academy has been modified and four separate Criminal Justice courses were created and are taken in conjunction with the Basic Academy:POLICE 100 - Criminal Law (3 semester units) POLICE 101 - Procedure and Evidence (3 semester units) POLICE 102 - Community Policing (3 semester units) POLICE 103 - Introduction to Criminal Investigation (3 semester units) In order to obtain a Basic Peace Officer certificate, each student must enroll and complete the Basic Law Enforcement Academy and the four separate Criminal Justice courses. This change in the curriculum will allow the 192 lecture hours or 12 combined units from the four additional courses to be transferable to California State University San Bernardino. |
