FIREARMS
The Firearms Training block of instruction is conducted at the San Bernardino Police Department Range Facility located in San Bernardino, CA.
The PPC range allows for a variety of weapons training at a distance to 50 yards. The rifle range will accommodate distances up to 100 yards. The range is equipped with various barricades at three different distances, as well as having portable barricades that can be set at any desired distance or in any pattern. The backstop behind the range is a natural dirt bank 28 feet in height. Permanent lighting, ample enough for night shooting is installed at the range.
The trainees generally only utilize one range that can accommodate stationary and tactical shooting for both handguns and shotguns. The primary range provides a multi-purpose environment, with 20 marked individual stations. Each firing lane allows 4 feet of lateral movement for the shooter with a total distance of approx. 7 feet between shooters.
