Application and
Admission
Students must apply and be accepted into the Psychiatric Technology program. A
booklet explaining requirements for admission and application forms are
available in the Health Science Division Office, HLS 101. Application form is
also available on this webpage. Students should make an appointment with a
college counselor, AD 103, 909-384-4404, and arrange to take the college
Assessment Test.
Student should apply during the semester they are completing prerequisites. To
apply, submit an application form, official college transcript(s), proof of High
School completion (official transcript, or Diploma, or G.E.D, or California High
School Proficiency Exam), print-out showing enrollment in prerequisite courses
that are in-progress, and proof of reading proficiency (college Assessment test
score or previous B.S. degree). Applications must be received by February 1 to
be considered for entrance in the Fall semester or by September 1 to be
considered for entrance in the Spring semester. Late applications will only be
considered if space is available.
A background check is required for admission. Enrollment may be denied based on
prior convictions related to Psychiatric Technology practice. California Board
of Psychiatric Technicians may deny the Psychiatric Technician License based on
any conviction or action substantially related to Psychiatric Technician
practice.
Note: Foreign
High School graduates must have equivalency evaluated. See program Director.
