SBVC Women's Soccer: Dias Signs Letter of Intent with Wayne St.

Redshirt sophomore midfielder Megan Dias signed her National letter of Intent with Wayne State College on June 3, 2009.  Dias (Colony High School) is SBVC Women’s Soccer all-time scoring leader, in two seasons she amassed 24 goals in addition to her 11 assists.

SBVC Baseball: Frederick & Lewis sign letter of intent with Mid-American Christian University

San Bernardino Valley College sophomore third baseman James Frederick (Rialto) and sophomore outfielder Sam Lewis (Riverside J.W. North) have both signed a letter of intent with an NAIA school, the Mid-American Christian University Evangels.

May 18, 2009

San Bernardino Valley College sent 9 student- athletes to the California Community College Athletic Association Track and Field Championship at College of San Mateo. SBVC Men’s team finished 7th, while the Women’s team finished 30th.

Baseball: Konnoff signs letter of intent with Nichols State

San Bernardino Valley College sophomore infielder and outfielder, Sam Konnoff (San Bernardino Pacific), has signed a letter of intent with a Division I school, the Nicholls State University Colonels.

Former SBVC Baseball player Jimmy Loughran left indelible mark on everyone
May 15, 2009

James (Jimmy)  A. Loughran, Jr. died on 11 May 2009 at age 45. Jimmy, as he was affectionately known, was born in 1963 to his parents James and Evagelia Loughran. He attended SBVC (Class of 1984) and played for the college’s baseball team in 1983 and 1984. Loughran was an all-conference award winner on the '84 baseball team which won a conference title under Stan Sanchez, that team eliminated a highly touted Citrus program to advance to the State Finals in Fresno that year. SBVC Baseball finished 26-13 in 1984, losing twice to Orange Coast and defeating Saddleback in the State Playoffs. Loughran played mainly the outfield on that team that at one time won 11 conference games in a row.
