her National letter of Intent with Wayne
State College on June 3, 2009. Dias
(Colony High School) is SBVC Women’s
Soccer all-time scoring leader, in two
seasons she amassed 24 goals in addition
to her 11 assists.

San Bernardino Valley College sent 9 student- athletes to the California
Community College Athletic Association Track and Field Championship at College
of San Mateo. SBVC Men’s team finished 7th, while the Women’s team

Loughran
left indelible mark on
everyone

(Jimmy)
A.
Loughran, Jr. died on 11
May 2009 at age 45. Jimmy, as he
was affectionately known, was born in 1963 to his
parents James and
Evagelia Loughran. He attended
SBVC (Class of 1984) and played for the college’s
baseball team in 1983 and 1984.
Loughran was
an all-conference award winner on the
'84 baseball team which won a conference
title under Stan Sanchez, that team
eliminated a highly touted Citrus
program to advance to the State Finals
in Fresno that year. SBVC Baseball
finished 26-13 in 1984, losing twice to
Orange Coast and defeating Saddleback in
the State Playoffs. Loughran played
mainly the outfield on that team that at
one time won 11 conference games in a
row.
